They couldn't help me as well as the person there doesn't know anything about Linux and they don't have drivers etc. I contacted the technical support of the seller which after some research asked me to contact the Lenovo technical support. I cannot click on the taskbar, desktop icons or in opened programs, keyboard doesn't work as well. When re-connecting the dock a few seconds after LM has detected the second monitor and adapted display settings accordingly, everything freezes and I can move my mouse (which is connected directly to the notebook) but cannot do anything anymore. Today a new and even worse problem appeared: Even if this is not the optimal solution at least it is a workaround.ģ. On any other boot into LM I haven't seen these error messages anymore, but after displaying the LM logo it switches back to the Lenovo logo and then nothing happens.įor (1) and (2) after some trying I found that disconnecting the dock during boot and re-connecting it on the login screen or after login works fine. Unfortunately in my BIOS there is no option to enable/disable the TPM chip, so this didn't help me.Ģ. Regarding the TPM chip I found nothing helpful here but in the Ubuntu forums that I should "just enable TPM from the BIOS setup" ( ). At the first boot I received the repeating error message "ima: Error Communicating to TPM chip" followed by an ACPI BIOS error "AE_AML_BUFFER_LIMIT, Field exceeds size of target Buffer" and then some "ACPI BIOS aborting due to previous error" messages.

To the docking station I have connected LAN, keyboard and one external monitor via HDMI.ġ. Now I've bought a ThinkPad USB-C Dock Gen2 docking station and have several problems with it running on LM19.3 (Windows 10 works fine).

I'm running a dual boot installation with LM19.3 and Windows 10 Pro on a ThinkPad E590 which works fine for both OS since about half a year.
